With narrower cuffs for mountaineering and ice climbing boots, we designed the Men’s Summit Series Torre Egger FUTURELIGHT™ Pants to deliver the functionality needed to reach the summit. Features like mobility-focused articulated knees, reinforced kick patches and breathable-waterproof shell fabric make them indispensable on route.
FUTURELIGHT™ 3L Shell
Breathable, waterproof, seam-sealed 3-layer construction engineered for sustained alpine output
Non-PFC DWR Finish
Added water repellency without PFCs — water beads off the face fabric before it can saturate the membrane
Recycled Body Fabric
100% recycled nylon ripstop face — durable, lightweight, and lower-impact
Alpine-Specific Leg Shape
Activity-specific leg shape and narrow leg openings designed for use with lower-circumference mountaineering and ice climbing boots
Crotch Gusset
Lighter-weight fabric in the gusset improves air permeability and next-to-skin comfort under a harness
Articulated Knees
Pre-shaped knees paired with the gusset for full range of motion on high steps and stemming moves
Adjustable, Removable Suspenders
Keep the pants locked in over a harness or pack belt; remove when not needed
Adjustable Waistband
Nonslip gripper belt with integrated belt loops; encased-elastic back-waistband panel adds comfort and range of motion
Front Closure
Zip-fly with a shank-button closure for a secure, low-profile front
7/8-Length Harness-Compatible Side Zips
YKK® AquaGuard® side zips run 7/8 length for venting on the climb and easy on/off over boots
Harness-Compatible Thigh Pockets
Two thigh pockets with YKK® AquaGuard® zips and bumper stops that seal out moisture without a zipper garage
Internal Bonded Kickpatches
Reinforced kick patches add durability, enhance material stability, and reduce internal abrasion from boot tongues and crampon straps
Hem Gaiters
Stretch-fabric gaiters with hook-and-loop closure and silicone gripper tape lock the hem to the boot for a seamless, snow-resistant fit
Parachute-Cord Attachment Loops
Internal loops at the leg openings integrate directly with compatible mountaineering boots for a clean, locked-in cuff
Two-Snap Hem Adjustment
Snap adjusters at each leg opening fine-tune circumference over different boot volumes
Regular Fit
Athletic cut that layers cleanly over a baselayer and under a harness
Leg-Opening Circumference
16.5″ — sized to clear the cuff of lower-profile alpine and ice boots

PFC Status
Non-PFC DWR finish throughout
Washing
Close all zippers and snaps before washing. Machine wash on a gentle / cold cycle using a technical cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash. Do not use regular detergent, bleach, fabric softener, or chlorine — these strip the non-PFC DWR finish and can degrade the FUTURELIGHT™ membrane and seam tape. Do not dry clean (solvents damage the membrane and DWR).
Drying
Hang dry or tumble dry on low / no heat for a short cycle. Heat reactivates the DWR finish — a brief tumble on low after air-drying helps restore water beading. Do not over-dry or use high heat — it can damage the membrane, kickpatches, and silicone gripper tape on the hem gaiters.
DWR Re-Proofing
When water stops beading on the 70D ripstop face fabric (typically after extended use or repeated wetting), re-treat with a spray-on DWR such as Nikwax TX Direct or Granger’s Performance Repel. Apply to the clean, damp pant, paying extra attention to high-wear zones — shoulders, hem gaiters, kickpatch area, and thigh pocket flaps. A short low-heat tumble helps set the finish.
Storage
Store clean, dry, and uncompressed in a cool, dark, dry place. Avoid leaving crumpled in a stuff sack for long periods — prolonged compression degrades the DWR and can delaminate seam tape over time. Hang loosely or fold flat. Keep out of direct sunlight (UV degrades both the membrane and the non-PFC DWR).
Field Repairs
Patch small holes, tears, or seam-tape lifts with adhesive nylon patches (Tenacious Tape or equivalent) — clean and dry the area first. For larger failures of the seam tape or membrane, send to a professional shell-repair service to keep the waterproof / breathable performance intact.
Suspenders, Zippers & Hardware
Rinse the YKK® AquaGuard® side zips and thigh-pocket zips with fresh water after exposure to salt, mud, or grit to keep the coated coils sliding smoothly. Periodically check the parachute-cord attachment loops at the leg openings and the two-snap hem adjusters for wear.
